Hi,
I am new to IP Telephony, I am just wondering is it possible to run a Cisco IP Phone (7940G and 7960G) without present of any CallManager or CallManager Express?
I have heard from Cisco engineer from Malaysia that it might be able to work when using SIP protocol on the IP Phone itself.
Much appreciate on any advises.
Regards,
Wei Ming

Yes, a SIP loaded IP Phone can work with a 3rd party call agent.

Thanks for your reply. But I would like to apologize for not making things clear. Actually there are few Cisco IP Phones, a C3660 router with 4 FXS ports, an AS5350 with 4 E1 interfaces. All these connected to the same network segment.
The requirement is IP Phone call to IP Phone and IP Phone call to router FXS analog phones, and vice-versa, without a CallManager or CallManager Express. Will this kind off setup work?
Thank you.
Regards,
Wei Ming, Wong.
