Hi,
Need some help in setting up dial peers for this scenario.
Telco--E1 R2---2800---E1 PRI---Nortel BCM
2800 is acting like a converter from
E1 R2 --> E1 PRI and vice versa. The Nortel does not support E1 R2.
Incoming call from PSTN originates from
R2 so i need to pass that on to the E1 PRi to reach the nortel.
Outgoing call originates from the PRI which i need to route over to the R2 to
reach the PSTN.
thanks,

Suppose nortel is receiving 4 digits od DID all beginning with 43.
dial-peer voice 1 pots
incoming called-number .
direct-inward-dial
dial-peer voice 2 pots
destination-pattern 43..
port 0/x/0:15
dial-peer voice 3 pots
destination-pattern .T
port 0/x/1
Basically, that's it. You could further optimize depending on the country where you're installing this.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Ask telco if they are sending ANI and how many DID digits. Then configure dso-group and cas-custom accordingly.

The E1 R2 is not set for DID although according to the telco they are sending
023975700 as called number for the incoming
call on all incoming channels. According to them ANI is also being sent.
Is there a way to verify this ?

This may be a good starting point for you.

Got this to work, apparently Telco is timing
out before it can receive the seize ack from
the router.
Below is the config for the E1 for reference
of all trying to work interconnection with
Digitel here in the Philippines. Digitel is
using ITU R2 instead of Philippine R2. And
their "seize acknowledgement timeout" I think
is set to 150ms. By default the cisco was sending its seize ack in 190ms.
controller E1 0/3/0
framing NO-CRC4
ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-5 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani
ds0-group 2 timeslots 6-10 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani
cas-custom 1
seizure-ack-time 40
cas-custom 2
Thanks for all who replied and helped.

Yes a 120ms default would have been more reasonable. If you want to speedup calls, ask telco to not send DNIS at all.
