DID digits passed

I am doing a new installation, running 4 analog DID trunks into a pair of VIC-2DID's. Our provider asked how many digits to pass on the DID's. My assumption is that since we use 4-digit extensions, they should pass 4 digits. Can anyone confirm or refute this.

If this isn't right, how can I tell how many should be passed?

Its completely up to you. It depends on how many extensions you will have, and what you need to do with the numbers.

With that said- I always take 4 digits. Unless you have more than 10000 phones, 4 will work fine. If you take more or less digits you can always use a translation pattern to change the number as it comes in.
