Hello -
WIth Unified Messaging, voicemail is integrated with groupware messaging software, either Exchange or Lotus Domino. The voicemail message appears as a unique icon in the user's inbox, which can be played via a Media Master form (installed by the ViewMail for Outlook client in the Exchange integration) that has standard media controls such as Play, Stop, and Record. Users can listen to e-mail over the telephone, check voice messages from the Internet, and forward faxes. Text-to-speech capabilities enable e-mail to be read to users over the phone. Conversely, voicemail is not integrated with a groupware messaging platform and can be accessed via the phone or with a browser-based application for managing user voice messages.

Ali,
Cisco VM (w/ Unity) - Uses the Unity system as regular voicemail system. There is No integration with the enterprise email / fax system.
Cisco Unified Messaging (w/ Unity) - With Unified Messaging, your enterprise email, fax and voicemail system are integrated. For example, if using the Unity w/ MS Exchange 2000 option, you will use the same Exchange 2000 servers for voicemail and email. User example: you can retrieve Voicemail via your email client; you can listen to short emails via your voicemail.
Hope this hels.
Carlos
