Does anyone know how to (if you can) export phone and user data from CCM 3.2(2c)?
Thanks, Glenn

The best option is to use a STI backup utility and restore it, but make sure you upgrade to the latest STI utility before performing the backup.

I suppose I should have been more specific. I am trying to "restore" the database to a new publisher with a different name than the publisher I am backing up. It is my understanding that you cannot restore to a publisher with a different name.
Thanks, Glenn

Glenn,
If you are just trying to export Phones and Users BAT could be the tool you are looking for. Please read the following documents.
Thanks,
Luis.

Luis thanks for the info. Unless I am missing something, the export feature is not available in CCM 3.2(2c) BAT 4.3(1). Can a newer version of BAT be installed without upgrading CCM?
Thanks, Glenn

You can restore a backup after you change the name of the server.
But, you will have to play in SQL Database to change the GlassHouse Name and everything.
But, why arent you just following the Cisco How-to
Upgrade the Callmanager and just dont change the serves names ! ;))
P.S :
THIS PROCESS HAS WORKED FROM 3.2.2c TO 3.3.2 UPGRADE
THIS HAVENT BEEN TESTED SINCE WITH OTHER VERSION OF CALLAMANGER
AND I RECOMMAND YOU TO :
- TEST IT IN LABS FIRST
- IF IT'S LOOK WORKING ... DONT TELL CISCO TAC YOU DID SO ;)))
AND :
- Setup executable may have been modify by Cisco to prevent the restoration if the Server Name Doesnt Match.
However, I will get really surprise If they added that fonction.
ALSO :
- I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE RESULT VS : DCDIRECTORY REPLICATION..
- My test in lab 3 years ago was using only 1 Servers. So, potentially, You may have to tricks the DCDIrectory Replication also, to get it works
Table to look for :
ProcessNode
ProcessConfig | ParamName : GlassHouseNodeId
-- You have to change the GlassHouseNodeId ... for the new ID
-- The server you restore to will generate
USE CCM03NN
UPDATE ProcessConfig
SET ParamValue = (SELECT pkid FROM ProcessNode WHERE name = 'SERVER_NAME_IN_CCMADMIN_SYSTEM_SERVER_MENU'
WHERE ParamName = 'GlassHouseNodeId'
Reboot your Server !
Your server is now promoted to a publisher.
- Verify SQL Manager to add publication on the local database
- Replicate the database to other subscriber
Have fun !
P.S : I'm NOT RESPONSIBLE IF SOMEONE TRY THIS IN A PROD ENVIRONMENT. AND SCREW UP EVERYTHING ....
