I've been looking for DSP calculation method on the internet for quite long time but I couldn't find anything.
One of my vendor told me that they used DSP calculator on Cisco web-site to accomodate customer's requirement.
Since we don't know how to generate the number, we must reply on someone else who could calculate DSP resources for us.
Is there any generic fomula that we could apply?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
Answer is that it's pretty confusing - specs of DSPs have changed a couple of times, they've just changed the code they run on them to something new (flex) and it's quite tricky to work out... for me at least, but then I'm lazy and stupid..
I use this:

As a heads up make sure to notice the very small print at the bottom of the page:
Note: The DSP requirements for the Analog/BRI cards will be the same whether or not all the calls are configured.
It doesn't matter if you shutdown the extra ports on the cards they will still allocate DSP resources. So make sure to claim all analog cards as if you were using all ports on it.

You also have 2 other tools :
Onboard PVDM Provisioning for the Cisco Integrated Access Routers 2800 and 3800

PVDM Provisioning for Voice Channel Support on the NM-HDV2 Network Modules

Thanks for your information.
Looks like I would still need some sort of Cisco partner equivalent access to use these tools. I can't access these with my accounts.
Is there other document resources that explain about DSP requirement?
Thanks.

If you want to get into the guts of DSP algorithms I would recommend checking out the following site:
It isn't per say about Cisco's use of DSPs but more of general DSP site including how to do some calculations and such.
