Jabber Clients

Hello,

Is there a new Jabber for Nokia client or is one in development? I notice that Cisco has announced EOL for Nokia Call Connect and Cisco Mobile for Nokia.

Thank you,

Sandy

Hi!

+1

I need Cisco Jabber on Windows phone too

Unfortunately this is too late for us. I have been forced down the Microsoft Lync route. I am now struggling with the various integration issues with Lync and CUCM. The COO has just told me that he wants to get rid of the CUCM phone system entirely and replace it with Microsoft Lync, because one of his buddies has done that "and it is really cool". Kill me now

I am also waiting for Jabber on Windows phone.

No change at this time. Cisco will reevaluate based on market demand. No clients at this time for mobile windows

Thanks

Srini

Considering the market share for Windows Mobile 8 is growing quickly now 8.2% market share  across Europes five biggest markets in July 2013 and 12.5% of the market in South America (Mexico), and significant market share in developing countries around the world where Cisco are represented or trying to grow their own market share. Would this not now provide justification for the development of a client?

Yes would be nice... Id like to switch from iphoe to nokias in my company...

I hope that Cisco will make a strong consideration soon for Jabber and/or AnyConnect clients on the Windows Phone platform.  I am a firm believer in having variety and competitors in the mobile market and Microsoft is now a player.

If we use market share to determine product development I hope we are looking at the professional user instead of an overall number.  Android is the number one platform based a myriad of things (everyone has a phone that ranges from free to 200+), but Apple still seems to be top of mind even though it lost its standing long ago as #1.  Microsoft platforms are a small player in the market, and maybe it's too late for them to make an impact in the Smartphone market, but to limit the platform development of what used to be an open source product like Jabber seems to fall short of the 'Jabber for everyone' mantra.

I have a Nokia 920 that I love.  Why?  Because it has the apps that are important to me (except for Jabber and WebEx of course) and I don't need a app market with 300,000 apps (or whatever Google and Apple currently have in their bloat app market).  As a user it's important to keep my communication devices focused on that very principle.  Jabber does this very thing, to use my communication devices for anything but is a waste of my productivity.

I realize I'm not in the majority in any of this, but by leaving out a product line that should be in the doable category to develop to (these apps are available on Windows anyway) the mobile platform for Microsoft.  And as always, Cisco forums are fantastic as they allow people in the community to voice their opinion and get direct feedback from the company.  You don't see things like this with Microsoft, Avaya, Huawei, Juniper etc.

One of the main selling points of the Cisco Jabber solution is the fact that it was emant to platform agnostic. I brought into this but now find my compnay pushing down a MS mobile paltform soem some of our employees. This is really centred around the corpotrate apps we use etc.

I get the reasoning about investing effort into devlopement but at what point is 'market share' considered big enough for Cisco start working on a client?   For how long can Cisco continue to say 'there is not enoygh market share ?'
