I'm trying to perform a BIOS upgrade on 2 different MCS7835. The file used is 7835-BIOS-04-02-01.exe (downloaded from CCO - It seems to me that there are no differences between files present in CM 3.0 & 3.1 pages).
The systems have the following original BIOS:
P17 09/27/2000, P17 11/08/2000.
The first system was already updated when I installed the CCM 3.05; the latter was never updated.
RESULT: I'm not able to upgrade the new BIOS, I get the error
FLASHING PROGRAMMING LOCKED! COLD BOOT OF SYSTEM IS NECESSARY TO UNLOCK CORRECT ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD IS NECESSARY IF ONE HAS BEEN SET.
I never set any kind of password on both BIOS.
- Does anyone have encountered this problem before??
- Is the BIOS upgrade mandatory to pass from 3.0 to 3.1??
Thanks

Did you do a cold boot? (no reboot with floppy, but shutdown, put floppy in and power on)
This is nessecary!
Good luck,
