Meeting place audio only 8.5, trouble with PSTN

Hey guys,

I have installed MP and it is working fine inside LAN perfectly fine. When dialling from outside it does reach the MP, but i am not able to join the meeting or create a meeting. Numbers pressed from the phone are not getting recognised. why is this ?

It sounds like DTMF tones are not reaching the MeetingPlace server from outside calls though it works fine for on net calls.  Check that your voice gateways are passing DTMF and they are getting through CUCM.

Hi Varadarajan,

As John mentioned seems DTMF issue, check the preferred DTMF signalling method on SIP trunk (to MP), make sure it' configured for RFC2833.

If all calls over PSTN has this issue, you want to make sure your provider is passing DTMF to your VG. Enable below debug on your VG (test during non-production) debug voip rtp session named-event

and make a test call and see is your VG seeing the DTMF entered or not? If you see DTMF on VG and then you need to check the CUCM for the same, enable traces on CUCM and download the SDI traces and see what's going on (if you are at this stage, advise you to open a TAC case with CUCM team to figure out what's going on).
