MGCP gateway resets after adding route pattern

If a new route pattern is added or modified then the gateway re-registers itslef or probably resets

Any idea why this happens.

I don't know why it has to reset but the ccmadmin page does inform you of this.

Note: Any update to this Route Pattern or Hunt Pilot automatically resets the associated gateway or Route/Hunt List

I added a fake mgcp gateway and added a route pattern to see the ccm traces

getDbDn [S0/DS1-0@SDADEADDEADDEAD] 1 Entries in dbPartitionPatternList

The reason that the gateway resets is because a new RoutePattern gets added to the MGCP-Gateway's list.

Yes the gateway will reset. To avoid this, put the PRI or whatever the connection is into a Route/Hunt List then point your route pattern to the route/hunt list. This will avoid any resets after making changes.
