MOH problem

Hi,

We do not hear any hold music, only the default pulsating beeps.

STEPS taken so far

* MOH servers have been reset

* Hold music has been applied to the device pool and all devices have been reset This has been unsuccessful

* I have added a new wave file to the MOH Audio source and re-applied it to the device pool. The music on hold is still defaulting to the pulsating beeps.

We have tried both for intenal and for external calls, but the on-hold music still does not work,

Thanks.

Have you set up any MRGs/MRGLs?

What codecs are you using on your network?

Hi,

I have set up MRG/MRGL

we are using codecs 711 for internal call and 729 for external calls.

thanks.

OK - some things to check for this issue:

1) If you have assigned your MoH servers to an MRG, everything must have an assigned MRGL containing an MRG with MoH in it in order to get MoH.

2) If you have locations set up, your MoH server must be set to work with this - i.e. put in the right location and have sufficient bandwidth to reach whatever device is trying to listn to MoH.

3) There is service parameter for the IP Voice Media Streaming Application that controls which codecs MoH will use - if you have regions set up and your phone is trying to connect using G729 you will need to set this or use a transcoder. To pick more than one codec find the service parameter, and do a CTRL+Click.

You should also check your CCM logs at the time of the call, these will give you the reason why you haven't got a media stream..
