Hi,
is it possibel to assign users, synced via AXL, a dedicated user group? Like assign all users the user group XXX? Or even better, like in MP7/8, assign the user group based on a criteria like department id. Can't find anything about that in docwiki ....
Thanks
Andre

Andre,
With MPE 2.1 and AXL/CUCM external authentication, the user profiles are created on the MPE side on successful logon to the web page. These users are created with the default user group that is configured for the guest user profile. There is no active sync in use for MPE like that which is used for MP 7.x/8.x. Basically, each time the user logs into the MPE web page, the authentication is checked via AXL on the CUCM. If the password for that user profile has changed on the CUCM side, then the change will be updated in MPE. So, there is no automatic way to get the users assigned to a particular MPE user group. There are two manual options that could be used to assign them to different user groups in MPE, but this can be time consuming and would need to be updated manually as users are added or removed. First, you would need to create the additional user groups in MPE and assign different numbers to them as required. Once this is done, here are the two options:
1. Manually go through the MPE user profiles and change the user group setting in the dropdown box to the desired user group and then save. This can be tedious and take a long time.
2. Export the user profiles from MPE to a comma delimited file and then open via MS Excel. Once the file is opened, you can change the number specified for the user group for each user profile to the desired one for each of the additional user groups you created. You can then import the user profiles back into MPE and overwrite the existing users.
As you can imagine, this could provide a lot of overhead as new users are added from AXL. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You,
Gerry Vass

Hi Gerry,
thanks for your extensive reply. Doing that manualy is what I was afraid of. But at least I now know how to progress with that task.
Thank you very much
