Multidirectory.asp and 7970 not working with CCM 4.2.1

Was working with ccm 4.0.1. Upgraded to ccm 4.2.1 and now when I press the directories button and select a directory to search. The selected directory returns to the list of directories page.

Upgrading to ccm 4.2.1 caused upgrade of 7970 FW to SCCP70.8-2-1S (have also tried SCCP70.8-2-1 with no success). If I downgrade firmware to TERM70.7-0-2SR1S directory works again.

Does not affect 7960/40 as they run P00308000100 FW.

I have upgraded to SDK 4.1.1 also with no success. Seems to be an issue with the new SCCP FW.

we got the same issue as well with 7970 and IP Communicator 2.0.2. We have analyze carefully the http trace and found no difference with xmldirectory.asp that still works. It also works if you call the directory from the Service button.

We found a workaround : we generate dynamicaly an XML file on the server that contains the CiscoIPPhoneMenu object with the list of directories and redirect to an URL pointing to this xml file. And ... it works !

Thank you for your reply. I am new to this stuff, can I ask how you generate this XML file?

Also I have tried Term70.7-0-3 and it also fails, so it seems to be that Cisco have made some change from 7-0-2 Fw to 7-0-3.

Hello,

We create the CiscoIPPhoneMenu xml object from the server application. Instead of sending it in the http response, we write it in an xml file on a shared URL of the http server and we respond with a Redirect to this URL. The CiscoIPPhoneMenu URL points to the usual application that respond with the CiscoIPPhoneInput xml object (to enter search params) directly in http.

I know it seems strange, but it is the only solution we have found for the moment.

Removing the following line from the default multidirectory.asp file fixes the issue with the new firmware/phones:

?'Response.Expires = -1?
