I am looking to put a pix in front of my voice servers. The problem I am anticipating is the udp ports used by rtp 16384 and up. If you open all of those ports what is the use of having a pix. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Take a look at this document. You might find some of it quite interesting. As for the UDP ports, i believe that they are opened dynamically within the range, when a call is setup. Be sure to use the 'fix-up protocol' command,
