Priority-queue out

I am using 3750s as access layer switches for an IP Telephony solution; they are connected (L2) to a collapsed core - distribution switch (6509).

I have a doubt about enabling or not the expedite queue (for voice traffic) in uplinks by mean of the command Priority-queue out, I think it should be enabled, but I find suspicious that Cisco does not use it in their AutoQos config.

Thanks in advance for any information that helps to clarify this.

Hi,

in the QoS SRND priority-queue out is "mandatory". SRNDs, as you know, is a best practice. I spoke with several guys from cisco and they told me that auto qos is not jet recommended. I was on the several Voice Boot Camps and we always use a priority-queue out command.

On the other hand I have several large scale instalation with integrated Voice, Video and Data and everythink works fine with priority queuing configured on uplink ports of access layer switches.

To conclude, I will keep this command on my configurations.
