Customer is running CCM 3.3(3) on an ICS 7750. On each phone, we have their primary directory numbers (5xx range) setup as a normal extension and added a second line appearance in the 4xx range. The second line appearance is used as an auto speakerphone, kind of like an intercom. We have the 4xx numbers set to "ring once" and auto answer with speakerphone. So when the receptionist transfers a call to a user's 4xx extension, it rings their phone once then goes to speakerphone.
So, the call flow is like this:
Receptionist answers call.
Receptionist presses transfer.
Receptionist dials the 4xx extension.
4xx extension rings once and autoanswers.
Receptionist announces call and says "John, I have a call for you."
Receptionist presses transfer again to complete the call transfer.
Customer wants the phone to still ring on the initial dialing of the 4xx extensions, but then when the receptionist presses the transfer button again to complete the call, they want to hear another "ring once" ring as an extra notification that there is a call on speakerphone.
Any suggestions? I'm not sure if going to CCM 4.x or 5.x would have any features that could do this. I know there are 3rd party IP Phone services that give intercom functionality, but are there any built-in features that CallManager has that will accomplish this?
Your thoughts?
Thanks,
Kevin

Brian,
I'm not sure how much that link will help me. What I got out of that link was how to block and allow certain types of call transfers.
What we are trying to accomplish I guess is to eliminate the need for a second line appearance that auto answers. So, if an IP phone calls another IP phone's primary DN, it will auto-answer on speakerphone. But, since they have DIDs and the outside callers have the ability to dial off of a Unity call handler greeting, when outside callers trying to call an IP phone, it should ring the phone instead of auto-answering. The other issue we have is that when they CFwdAll their primary DN to voicemali (like a do-not-disturb button), other IP phones can call the 4xx extension. They are running CCM 3.3(3)sr3, and not sure if that version will allow CFwdAll on the other line appearances on a phone.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Maybe this will help. No version of CCM currently has the ability to call forward secondary lines from the phone itself. But a user can forward secondary lines if they use the following via web gui;
Using "ccmuser" access and account for each person.
Forward Your Calls
Configure Call Forwarding on your Cisco 79xx(Description)
Use this page to forward incoming calls on your phone to another extension.
To forward a line, enter the phone number where you want your calls to go.
To stop forwarding calls, clear the check box on the line that is being forwarded.
Forward all incoming calls on line 1 (xxx) to Voice Mail or this number
Forward all incoming calls on line 2 (4xx) to Voice Mail or this number
There is also this 3rd party tool which does work from the phone:
IPPhone callforwarder
Here is the link;

Hope this helps somewhat!
