hi,
SDL is the communication link between the subscibers and the publisher.
without SDL the nodes can not communicate with each other. the SDL communicate on port 8002 so the nodes should have connectivity on this port, no firewall if in between should block or inspect on this port for better communication.
when SDL link broken you get an RTMT alerts so make sure you enable it and troubleshoot accordingly/
regards.

SDL is the intra-cluster call control signaling amongst nodes running the CCM service. Without it each node is an island.
Start with “utils diagnose test” on each node to make sure the basics check out.

You can run "show open ports regexp 8002" on CLI of all the nodes of your CUCM cluster.
You should see in the output if SDL connection for TCP port 8002 is established with peer nodes or not.
This will give you a fair idea about between which nodes you need to troubleshoot SDL connection issue.
You need to make sure there is no firewall blocking any TCP traffic over port 8002 between the nodes where there is no SDL connection established.
If you see one particular node is not having any SDL connection to any of the nodes in the cluster, then the issue might be on that node as well[After making sure there is no network issue which can cause it]. A reboot of that particular node might help in that case.
