Hi,
I configured a username in CCM to have a device associated with it. The device is a 7960 phone.
I can control the phone fine, but can't seem to hear or transmit any sound.
I have checked the mute and volume buttons. Did a basic test to make sure that my microphone is fine by recording voice using microsoft sound recorder.
Can someone please help.

Hi,
I have had this before and it was due to a firewall running on the PC which has the softphone installed. As a test disable the firewall and try again.

Just to clarify - are you saying that when logging into Softphone you are controlling one of the lines on a 7960 phone?
If so, then the audio will terminate and is expected to originate at the 7960 phone. In this case you are using Softphone as a dialer for the 7960.
If you want to use the Softphone as a phone then you need to confugure a CTI Port with a Line, associate that to the user and control that line with Softphone. Now, assuming everyting else is working, you can use the Softphone as a phone.
