I have just upgraded to Unity 3.0.2, and I have Call Manager 3.1(2C) When you are in unity, and when there isn't response from the system, I can hear static, this is happening between the prompts, when the prompt is playing back there is no static, is there something I can do about this?

This is probably a deliberate 'white noise' added by the CallManager. If it's not there, we hear complaints on the other side of the road - too silent and people think they were disconnected.

1) If you are using an H323 gateway (i.e. router) for your PSTN connection do the following:

--on the voip dial peers enter the command "no vad"

2) On the Call Manager do the following:

Go to Call Manager Administration Page

--select service/service parameters
--select the Call Manager
--select Cisco Call Manager for Configured Services
--scroll down till you find "silence supression system wide"
-----change value to "f"
--click on the update button
--scroll down till you find "silence supression w/gateways"
-----change value to "f"
--click on the update button

You should not have to stop/start CM but if you still hear white noise, then you may want to stop/start
the call manager service and see if that resolves the problem.

Thank you for the reply, I checked the setting I currently have and the ones you mentioned are set that way. So I'm not sure where the white noise is comeing from. It's liveable, but it didn't do this before the Unity 3.0.2 upgrade.
