Unity 3.1.5, Exch 5.5; Importing users from another server, same site?

Good moring,

I have Unity 3.1.5 installed and am having trouble using SA to import users from other Exchange servers in the same site(They dont show up in the list) Whats the catch? Is it possible?

Presumably you can see these users in the recipients container of the Exchange we're connected to, right? If not, you need to start there.

You should be able to import subscribers from any server in the site - there are a few common reasons why they wouldn't show up in the import list.

1. they have been subscribes on some Unity server in the past and were not properly deleted. They are "stamped" in the Exchange directory (or AD in the case of 2000) as subscriber and wont be allowed for import until they're cleaned. Here's a tech tip on that:

2. the users are not setup for MAPI access - this translates to the "Allow Rich Text" setting for users - if it's not on we can't import them as subscribers - Microsoft over rode that value to also mean the ability for external processes to get at their mailstore via MAPI.
