I'm having issues with my WS-6608 blade communicating with my Call manager. I have a total of 8 ports on this blade which

4 are currently active. The configuration is basically the same as the other active ports. Port 7/6 is not registering to my call manager. please help

1. Please make sure IP connectivity is ok. it looks like these ports are on a different vlan with different ip addresses.

2. Then, see if reconfiguring the ports will help. Why I say this is because sometimes, the TFTP service would not have put the GW configs in cache. If you do not have too many devices on this call manager, go to TFTP service parameters -> advanced and from the drop dowm menu, choose "do not chache"

3. If you make sure TFTP is working ok (you can look at TFTP traces), then check with detailed CCM traces as to why registration fails.

Try to add the dns option into the set port voice interface using the TFTP address.

Check Dicktracy utility and TFTP traces as Ashok stated.

If port 7/6 is pingable from Callmanager, and configured in Callmanager with the correct MAC address, then of course this config should work - especially if 7/1 through 7/4 are already working.

One very effective trick for resetting malfunctioning 6608 ports, is the change the vlan, wait 30-60 seconds, then change it back.

Believe it or not, this trick is more effective than a switch or blade reset.

Configure as follows:

set port voice interface 7/6 dhcp disable 192.168.0.87 255.255.255.224 vlan 1 tftp 192.168.0.24 gateway 192.168.0.65

wait 30 seconds, then:

set port voice interface 7/6 dhcp disable 192.168.0.87 255.255.255.224 vlan 12 tftp 192.168.0.24 gateway 192.168.0.65
