In reference to document Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure Dual-Fabric Design Guide White Paper I am considering a dual fabric ACI DCI solution using vxlan as the DCI transport, this is represented in the figure 10:
Questions:
1. For the NX-OS devices used for the DCI do I require the advantage license which includes the VXLAN EVPN Multi-Site feature or is the essentials license with VXLAN BGP EVPN feature enough?
The white paper only mentions vxlan bgp evpn but not evpn multi-site. I am trying to understand the difference between the two features and what is really required for dual fabric ACI L2/L3 extension in terms of licensing?
2. In all the references in the white paper for vxlan option there are routers on the edge of the DCI, are these extra routers required? Or can the NX-OS switches from one DC be connected back-to-back to the other DC using for example DWDM? Example below. Is this supported?
