Adding 3rd Party Drives?

Hi All,

We have a sizable UCS blade environment, and we're looking to add a few SATA SSDs to a couple of our blades for a specific project. As the Cisco OEM SSDs wont meet our performance needs, we are looking at purchasing a different manufacturer's drives and adding them to the empty SAS slots on the front of the server.

My question is, if we purchase company XYZ's SSDs and add them to the existing servers, does that have any affect on our Cisco warranty or service plan? We just want to make sure that we don't void our warranty by doing this.

Any help would be great!

Cisco did not test nor support 3rd party drives.  Their implementation would cause denial of support issues down the road.

Thank You,
