N77K Better up time

Hi Guys,

I Have a doubt about wich solution provides better up time.

    1 - One N7700 fully redundant (2 x Supervisors,2 x  I/O Modulo)

or

   2 - Two N7700 with no redundancy (1 x Sup, 1 x I/O Modulo)

I've seen benefits for both sides  (1 - ISSU, etc; 2 -  VPC, etc) and I feel like most people prefer the second choice for a "feeling" of see both boxes in there.

Important to notice that the price is very similar in both cases.

Is there an ultimate answer for this? Which solution would you recomend?

Hi Vini,

IMO I would prefer the 2nd design.  Solutions utilizing (1) device with redundant components have a highier % of failing then (2) separate devices.

Alot of Network Admins have went through the experiences of dual-supervisors and bugs/failures that have impacted the stability of the entire chassis.
