802.1X port-based authentication has the following configuration guidelines and limitations: Cisco Nexus 3500 Series switches do not support configuring 802.1X on Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)I7(2) and the previous releases. The Cisco Nexus 3000 Series switches support 802.1X authentication only on physical ports. The Cisco Nexus 3000 Series switches support 802.1X authentication on member ports of a port channel but not on the port channel itself. The Cisco Nexus 3000 Series switches support 802.1X authentication only on Ethernet interfaces that are in a port channel, a trunk, or an access port. Cisco Nexus 3000 Series switches do not support 802.1X on the following: FEX ports VPC ports PVLAN ports L3 (routed) ports Port security Ports enabled with CTS and MACsec
