Problem connecting Catalyst 9500 and ASR1002-X at 10G

We have connected a Catalyst 9500 to a ASR1002-X using MMF. The Catalyst 9500 has a SFP-10G-SR-S and the ASR1002-X has a XFP-10G-MM-SR. Are these two SFPs compatible as the link is showing UP/DOWN on the ASR1002-X end and UP/UP on the Catalyst 9500 end.

I do have another site that is working but the Catalyst 9500 has an SFP-10G-SR and not an SFP-10G-SR-S

We have activated a 20G performance license on the ASR1002-X

Sounds like a bug. 

1. What firmware is the ASR on?
2. What firmware is the 9500 on?

We are running Fuji 16.9.5 on the ASR1002-X and Fuji 16.9.1 on the Catalyst 9500

And that is where the problem is -- 16.9.1.  

Long-story-short, upgrade the firmware to anything newer.  Do not use anything that ends with X.X.1.
