What are the licenses that exist for UCS Director and what are they for?
These tables list the available licenses, and their use case.
Please note it is important to make a distinction between the Product ID (PID) you order, and the feature shown inside the license file. E.g. ordering a CUIC-SP-BASE-K9 license and activating the resulting PAK results in a CUIC-BASE-K9 license.

| CUIC-BASE-K9 CUIC-SP-BASE-K9 | CUIC-BASE-K9 | Base license, required for every installation of UCS Director (except when using the EVAL license). Installation of any other license requires a BASE license to be installed first. In a HA (High Availability) scenario, both the Primary and Secondary instances each require a separate BASE license. |
CUIC-PHY-SVR CUIC-SP-PHY-SVR CUIC-PHY-SVR-10 CUIC-PHY-SVR-50 CUIC-PHY-SVR-100 CUIC-PHY-SVR-250+ | CUIC-PHY-SVR | This is a counted license, i.e. it can be bought for a certain amount of servers. Each count entitles the use of one physical server (hypervisor host) running 50 server VM's or 250 desktop VM's, AND 1 network node AND 1 storage node. |
| CUIC-PHYSVRBM | This is a counted license, i.e. it can be bought for a certain amount of servers. Each count entitles the use of one bare metal server (i.e. a server running an operating system without hypervisor). In addition, each 2 counts entitle the use of 1 network node and 1 storage node. Example: a CUIC-PHYSVRBM-50 license will allow the use of 50 bare metal servers, 25 network nodes and 25 storage nodes. |
