How do I find out whether the 12012 IOS supports Cisco IOS firewall. Or can someone tell me which release does.

Hi Simon, are you talking about the GSR12012?
If so I don't think there is CBACS for that platform.
There is a feature for the 12000 called IP Receive ACL which may be of use though.

The FW feature set does not currently appear to be supported on the 12012. Curent feature sets for the GSR are:
gsr-k3p-mz.120-25.S.bin - SERVICE PROVIDER/SECURED SHELL 56
gsr-k4p-mz.120-25.S.bin - SERVICE PROVIDER/SECURE SHELL 3DES
gsr-p-mz.120-25.S.bin - SERVICE PROVIDER
gsr-boot-mz.120-25.S.bin - BOOT IMAGE
c12k-fdiagsbflc-mz.120-25.S.bin - FIELD DIAGNOSTICS LINECARD IMAGE

maybe you can use software advisor in Tools and Utilities of TAC webpage to find out if the specified IOS has such features.

Thanks for the reply, but the reason I am asking is that I couldn't find anything using the TAC Tools.

simon,
i didnt see any reference to 12.0(12) ios in the cisco software center. Also an IP + FW feature set doesnt list 12.0(12). I would assume, cisco doesnt support this version of IOS itself, anymore.
try to upgrade to the next latest software version, after considering how much amount of ram/flash you have , and whether u r ready to upgrade flash/ram if needed.
Also you havent specified the router mode. Recommendation of ram and flash needed for an ios upgrade can be found out only if you specify the router model.
IP FW feature set (IP + IOS firewall), is supported on the 12.0, starting with 12.0.17a

Appologies, I was unclear in specifying that I am trying to find out whether an IOS providing the Cisco IOS Firewall Feature is avaliable for a 12012 router or 12000 series router.

Thanks, this confirms my findings that no no IOS exists for the GSR12000 series routers that supports Cisco IOS Firewall.
