Hi,

was wondering if the Cisco 2950 was capable of acting as a dhcp server. If not and I have to use my 831 series router will this dhcp okay to pc's hanging of the switch.

Hi,

Cat2950 does NOT support dhcp server feature (while Cat2955 DOES) but both types allow dhcp realy functionality ie. your pc can communicate to 831 router with dhcp via Cat2950.
