3550 VLANs and Broadcasting...

Hello all,

We have a fairly small network (500 nodes) being run by a Catalyst 3550 and a bunch of 2950s. They are seperated via VLAN's presently with each being on it's own subnet.

Now, we just got in this "Fluke Networks LANMap" add-on to Visio (which works awesome), except that they have chosen to 'find" a network via broadcast domains rather than seed devices, etc.

Is there any commands or any way I can have broadcasts allowed to traverse my VLANs from one specific machine? Or is there some way to allow for broadcasts to go everywhere so that I can find my entire network? (As it is, I can only view my subnet).

Thanks for any assistance!

Tim

You could use the ip forward-protocol command but I wouldn't do that. Instead I would just move the workstation that you are going to use to map the network to each of the seperate VLAN's and keep seperate drawings for each one.
