6500 Sup720 Vlan1 IP quits responding

This is an odd problem where periodically the vlan1 ip address stops responding to polling by Network Management station. It will respond to a ping from a device attached to the switch but won't respond to pings from any other device even on vlan 1. It stops for approximatly 10 to 20 seconds then comes back. Traffic through switch still forwards but Vlan1 quits responding. Seems to be triggered by port up/downs. 2 core 6500 x 2 server 6500 L2 setup. Have tac case opened and spend all day with tech with no results. Can trigger by moving cable from switch srv1 to switch srv2. Enabled portfast but did not seem to help.

Have you seen the ICMP requests come into the Sup720 from the NMS station using a sniffer or debugs on the Sup720 and is the Sup720 not responding to it? Can you email me the TAC case number?

600832334 - No have not done debugs or sniffer traces. We just hooked up a sniffer. We don't have a real complicated configuration.
