7960G IP phone switchports and BPDU-guard compatibility

The 7960 IP phone has an "internal two-port Ethernet switch allows for a direct connection to a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet network via an RJ-45 interface with single LAN connectivity for both the phone and a co-located PC" per Cisco. Does the fact that this is a switch propagating multiple MAC addresses to my 6509's switchport pose an issue if I'm running BPDU-guard on it ? Don't these "internal switches" on the phones send BPDUs?

Hi

It'll work fine - the phones have a 'switch' but don't produce BPDUs or participate in STP.

Hi Friend,

No, the IP phones doesnt send any BPDU's. This will not pose any issues.

HTH, Please rate if it does.
