Can anyone help me out here. I have an old Cat 2900 that has a 9 pin Serial port for the console instead of the standard RJ-45. I have tried various cable configurations but cannot console in. I have searched through the website here but cannot find any information.
Any pointers most appreciated.
Steve.

Is it a male or female connector on the switch? Did you try using the 9 pin rj45 to db9 adapter and then use a regular rollover console cable??

It's a male connector. Yes I tried the rollover with an adapter.

Try using a straight through cable with the db9-rj45 adapter. Maybe it's like the console of some 2926 and 5500 series...

Noe, tried all those again. I guess there may be a hardware fault on the port itself
