I am trying to upgrade the image file of an ASA 5505 using Solarwinds TFTP, but the ASA will not communicate with the TFTP server.
The ASA can ping the PC running the TFTP server and the PC can ping the ASA. I've checked to make sure the file is in the root directory and that the TFTP server is running.
ASA# copy tftp flash
Address or name of remote host []? 10.10.10.11
Source filename []? asa847-29-k8.bin
Destination filename [asa847-29-k8.bin]?
Accessing tftp://10.10.10.11/asa847-29-k8.bin...
WARNING: TFTP download incomplete!
%Error reading tftp://10.10.10.11/asa847-29-k8.bin (Unspecified Error)
ASA#
ASA# ping 10.10.10.11
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.10.10.11, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/466/610 ms
ASA#
Any suggestions? Please help.

Make sure you dont have any firewall running on your machine, I was able to duplicate your experience with Windows Firewall running (long RTTs, no TFTP, ping worked fine if I selected the network as a Work Network)

You're RTT concerns me, how far apart are these elements?
You are getting a 466ms average RTT from your TFTP server.

Aaron, both the ASA and the laptop I'm using are sitting on the same desk. The patch cord is eight feet.
I've tried the TFTP on two different machines and neither connects. Both PCs respond to pings. I'm at wits-end.

Gotcha...Windows firewall is probably running. But I opened the UDP port. I'll disable it and give it a try.

Any luck?

I was out of town all last week; not able to work on ASA. However, when I got back yesterday, I disabled Win FW and was able to get to TFTP. Thanks Aaron for the help.
However, more problems...will submit another post.

Ganesh, I can try another TFTP server. I just thought Solarwinds was one of the best.
