What are best tools or commands to assess performance on 4006 switches? I have 2 4006 Sup 1 switches, connected by 2 copper 1gig gbics in an etherchannel. 3rd floor switch is full with 48 port inline power blades. 1st floor switch has 2 blades one 10/100 and the other 1000. Default VLan1. All servers are on 1st floor switch. 3rd floor switch cpu is average of 38% utilization. 1st floor proc util is 19%. CatOS 8.1(3) on both. Pc's on 3rd floor have noticeable delay in browsing network drives etc. versus same functions with pc connected to 1st floor switch. Need suggestions on how to best determine the slowdown or improve 3rd floor performance. Most pc's set to autonegotiate. portfast enabled on most ports.

Have you checked utilization on your uplink between switches yet?

I had a similar problem browsing drives and the network but was able to fix it after disabling porfast on the cat 4006 and setting the individual ports on both the workstation and switch to the same static speeds.
You may also want to show the individual port statistics to make sure you are not getting errors.
