Can somebody from Cisco in here confirm/deny rumors about EOE for CatOS withint next 12 months?

Depends on platform. CAT OS is already end of engineering for CAT4000 as of May 3, 2006. So, no more CAT OS releases for CAT4000.

For 6500s, it will be supported but Native IOS is encouraged.
Hope this helps.

Is there already a timeframe set for EOE of CATOS on 6500/Sup720 platform?
Thanks.

Yeah you can count on it across the line , they do not want to support 2 different operating systems . I liked catos for all the layer 2 type switching it was just easier to do mutliple interfaces using catos. whether or not they get rid of it within 12 months who knows .. I think it will be gone within a couple of years though.
