CDP not working between 7200 and Cat6k MSFC

I have a situation whereby a 7206VXR running IOS 12.2

is not seen via CDP on a Catalyst 6509 MSFC over a

Gigabit Ethernet connection. The MSFC is running 12.1(5) on the MSFC. I have done a search using bug toolkit but can find no code problems relating to this. CDP is running on both boxes and the individual ports

Anyone seen this before?

I am not 100% sure but I think that your situation is correct. Have you had a look at your supervisor engine to see if the Layer 2 switch can see both devices via CDP. As CDP only runs at the data link layer this is the point I would expect to see both devices. I hope that helps.

You will only see cdp at the Supervisor level . you should be able to see the supervisor from

the 7200 . The only thing you will see at the msf layer will be a cdp connection down to the supervisor .
