Cisco 1721 Router cannot boot pass the POST test.

Hi,

I have a Cisco 1721 Router in my possession, which I am assisting with its configuration. Prior to my input, I was told that this router was partially configured, however, it failed to boot after numerous restarts.

This router in its boot process cannot get pass the POST test, it just displays this Line "GóbrGó". With this line displayed, you cannot enter any commands.

I attempted to get into the ROMMON mode, but that also failed. It seems as the IOS image file was erased, I have a copy of another image file.

The front panel displays a solid Green power LED and a continuous blinking Green OK LED.

Could someone advised as to what could have gone wrong there and how, I can rectify this problem.

Thank you,

Surendra Persaud

Hi

Have u tried checking whether any ios code exists when u are in the Rommon mode ?

you can try it with dir flash command.

if you arent seeing any files then you can always download new ios image using either tftpdnld command or using xmodem copying.

do refer these links for more info on how to copy the ios image using tftpdnld and xmodem command..
