Is there any way that I can know how much time a port has been idle or at least the last time it was used?
Thanks.

I don't know a way to see when the port last got a frame, but there are ways to see when it goes online or offline? Which did you have in mind? I guess it is the frame activity you want. Unfortunately, the CAM/MAC table display does not tell you how old its entries are, otherwise you could have used that.
Are you IOS or CatOS, and which version?

If it's IOS try show interfaces link , this will give you sort of what you are looking for , don't know what all the fields are but if it's being used now it will show 0 minutes , if hasn't been used it looks like minutes from left to right in the field .

Great!
Thanks, I found the line "Last input..." and I saw the idle time of the port if it was ever used. If never has been used I see "Last input never...".
Thank you.
