Hi there,

I just wanna know if someone has good experience with a cisco router with dual FDDI interface in combination with ethernet interfaces?

If so, which cisco router + interface cards are you using and is it still available at cisco?

Thanks in advance!

Michael

I could be wrong but I don't believe FDDI is supported anymore in any of the new products , you would have to go to the outside market and look at some older Cat 5000 series gear which did support FDDI interfaces because we used to use them as our backbone at the time was FDDI .

Hi Michael,

I have had some experience using this setup - although I can't give you real specifics because it was in a previous job and I no longer have access to the hardware.

I have however seen 7206VXRs configured with dual FDDI and dual f/e cards . Not sure if they still are but they were running as part of the UUNet dial access network.

Sorry that I can't be more help.

Cheers,

Tom.
