Cluster Mgt Suite and "bad magic number" error message, help..

I have recently upgraded a C2900XL to IOS Version 12.0(5)WC3b. When I try to use CMS via a web browser I get the first logon prompt and that goes fine but when it tries to pull up the homepage of that switch it prompts for the password again and then does nothing. Sometimes I get a message in the browser status area that there was a "bad magic number". I have read enough to know this is a Java error of some sort but I do not know how to correct it. Has anyone else experienced this message and if so how did you correct it? I have been unable to locate the answer on the cisco site. Here's another clue.. the switch can be viewed from CiscoWorks. I have checked my browser settings and the java console and tried from other pc's. Could it be the html files on the switch itself?

Check for the Java Plugin on your browser. Try upgrading to 1.3.1

I have 1.3.1 and have tried 1.4 and tried various machines.

I have had the same problem and found that the 12.0 IOS is only compatable with java version 1.3.0 and nothing higher. I uninstalled the 1.3.1, this is the one that the CMS takes you to and installed 1.3.0c and all works fine.
