Devices missing from RME inventory in CW

Hello,

My apologies for the lack of understanding this e-mail accentuates, but I'm new to CiscoWorks, and backing up a Specialist who is out of town.

First off, the particulars:

Running CiscoWorks on a Solaris 8 E250 box.

The problem exists in the RME, which is on version 3.5 and patched with RME3_5_IDU -7_0. When going into RME -> Administration -> Inventory -> Import Status, and clicking on Managed (which shows 179 devices), I get no entries found. The operations staff has informed me that this problem had appeared before, and was fixed. They said that the devices weren't wiped out, just the view was somehow messed. That's all the info I have to go by.

I'm not expecting a solution, just some fingers to point me in the right direction on what to check. I've started looking at the RME docs but I'm also pressed for time. I have full rights to the CW GUI and root access for the box, so I should be able to access everything that is suggested.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Grant

Start by installing RME IDU8 first.

I am also having the same problem on the same hardware and OS platform. In addition I have IDU 8 and 9 installed. I usually bounce the application to fix the problem, but this is getting old.

I've had some serious problems with IDU 8. Make sure you have IDU ver 9.0 for RME 3.5 installed. Much more stable.

Then check the browser settings. I'm using IE 6.0.2800.1106 with SP1 with update Q824145, Q832894 and works well. Delete the temporary Internet files too. Ensure the Java plugin in the corect version. (1.4.1_02) You can also clear the Cache in the Java plugin through Control Panel on a Windows platform.

You don't have to reboot the whole server everytime you have a problem, try stopping and starting the deamon manager first.

Hope you come right.

I tried clearing the Java cache on my PC and that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
