Disable dialin without disconnecting...

I want to disable users from dialing new call into my 3640 with MICA modems, but I don't want to disconnect any of the call currently open. Could I just enter a "no isdn incoming-voice modem" on the serial interface?

You mean you do not want people to connect on more than one lines with your 3640? One way to do that is to limit this in AAA authorization if you are using a AAA server. If you were doing dialer profiles, you could also just use "dialer max-call 1" under the individual dialer interfaces.

If your question pertains to the fact that you want to disable another call from a user who is already connected and that too, right now, sure you can take out isdn incoming-voice modem from your D channel.

Just to add, if you take out the "isdn incoming-voice modem", "none" of the modem calls after that will connect. ISDN calls will work fine as it will be terminated on the hdlc controllers.

So now to get the "new" modem calls down the line, you need the "isdn incoming-voice modem" under the d-chan (serial) interface.. Tejal

Right now there are about 20 users logged into the router. I have 2 T1 lines attached to a pair of controllers. There are 2 MICA modems (with 24 lines each). One of the banks of modems are all listing a "B" when I "sh modem". I need to recycle the router during off hours and I do not want anyone to start a new call on that router until I reboot it. I have another 3640 that will handle the load for the rest of the night.

Sure. Thats not a bad approach for this problem. By the way, make sure your MICA modems are

running portware rev 2.7.3.0 . This modem going BAD problem is resolved in that portware.
