I don't have a fast connection right now, so I
came up with this idea. I am a newbie CCNA,
and I would like to connect a 56K modem to my
serial port and practice my DDR. I found this
EIA-530 Serial Cable on the cisco site, which
seems to be what I'll need. I'm currently
using a C-2514, v.12.0 IOS
My question is for when I would hook that
cable to my router.
Could I connect a DB25/DB9 adapter on the end
of the cable, in order to utilize a 56K
external modem and connect through PAP?
Has anyone tried this?
I would like to know it will work, before I
get the cable. I can't seem to locate any
kits to make the conversions from the pinout
information online, as I do have DCE/DTE
cables already.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
