I have a catalyst 6509 directly connected to a 7507 via fastethernet. The 6509 is taking a high number of FCS errors. There are no other errors on either side. The duplex settings are correct and the fiber between the two is clean. Does anyone know what else could be causing this? Thanks

FCS errors are the result of collisions at half-duplex, duplex mismatch, bad hardware (NIC, cable, or port), or a connected device generating frames
with bad FCS. Since you ruled out duplex/speed mismatch, try a different port on the 6500

check duplex settings to be identical on both machines, this usualy solves the problem.
