Can we configure a GEC with this scenario?
A 2950G-48 with two Gbics (one Gbic5483 and one Gbic5484) with a 2970G-24TS (one of the ports 10/100/1000T and one GLC-SX-MM).
The idea is create a GEC with differents types of Media (UTP and Multimode Fiber).

Rodrigo.

Hi Henry ,
I couldn't find document tlaking about mixed media channel , however i tried in the lab it works .
From my understanding , ether channel only check for the speed , duplex and configuration mismatches ECT it doesn't check on the media type .

Media type should not matter as long as all interfaces are gigabit.

Thanks for the answer!
Ok, but what happens with these cases:
- In one side a Gbic5483 (only 1000T) and in the other side a UTP port 10/100/1000T, is it possible?
- Can we make a Gigaetherchannel in a 2970G-24TS with a UTP port (10/100/1000T) and a SFP port? Doesn't matter the number or the group of the ports?
For example: make a Gigaetherchannel with the First Port10/100/1000T and the First Port SFP of the 2970.
Best Regards,
Rodrigo.

Hi Henry ,
Yes , you can configure gigabit ether channel with diffirent media types , keep in mind that all the ports should be running at the same speed and configurations.
Let me know if you have any questions .

Thanks Laxmi,
No i don't have questions.
The idea of this message was to confirm if i can make a gigaetherchannel with a 2950G (with one Gbic MM Fiber and the other with a Gbic 1000T) and a 2970G (one of the ports 10/100/1000T and a SFP port with a GLC MM Fiber).
Did Cisco Have a document with this information?

Rodrigo
