Hey,
Got a question regarding DSL setup. We have had a very difficult time getting information from the DSL provider. Specifically, it has always been like pulling teeth to get the correct encapsulation, PVC, and pap/chap username password. Anyone have any ideas to get the necessary information? To get around this in the past we have left the providers equipment in place and routing though a WIC ethernet interface but it has drawbacks with regard to routing. Any ideas would be helpful.
THanks!

If they are using Cisco gear you can do a password recovery. This will allow you to get into their box if it is password protected and check the config on their equipment for the information you need to set up your router. This is what I have done in the past with less-than-friendly providers.

Unfortunately, they only have a netopia router onsite and I am doing the config for the Cisco router remotely.
