High CPU

Everyday at the same time (9:38 and 10:38), the CPU on our 7204 VXR shoots up to 40% and then 5 minutes later returns back to normal. This has been happening since July. Could a "bot" be causing this. I am not sure where to send this query.

Thanks

Have you checked the interface utilization on this router to see if one of them goes high also at the same time. If so you can then determine what subnet is causing the issue and then track it down to from there. It could just be a backup being performed everyday on a couple of servers.

Hi

In addition to other post try to chek which process eats up the cpu when it shoots up to 40%,if posible capture the same and post it here.(i think it may be the ip input which is behind this shootup)

Guess sudden download may cause the surge but still post the cpu process o/p.
