I am trying to configure snmp on my PIX 506 using the commands below without success. Help.
Logged in as enable...
Step 1 Identify the IP address of the SNMP management station with the snmp-server host command.
Pixfirewall#snmp-server host 172.x.x.x
When I do this I get the following message.
Pixfirewall#Type help or '?' for a list of available commands.
Please help.

Hi,
A couple of things you're missing. First, you need to be in global config mode(config t), then you need to issue: snmp-server host inside 172.X.X.X
(substitute interface ID depending on where the request comes from..inside, outside, etc)
Lastely, issue: snmp-server community "snmp string"
You should be all set
