HI,
I recently bought a couple of 2610 routers on ebay and found that they only have 8MB of flash. I want to upgrade the flash and searched ebay for flash. I found one that said that it would work only with bootstrap version 12 or above. The routers I have do not meet that requirement and I was hoping someone could tell how the bootstrap can be upgraded (if it can be) and what file is used to upgrade it. Thanks in advance for the help.

You need to physically replace the rommon chip. There are vendors on ebay that sell it.
However it's not worth to work or study with non-XM 2600's, they are just too old now.

Thanks. I'm studying for the ICND2 exam. Do you think Cisco's Packet Tracer is useful in preparing for the exam?
